Polyeco Group undertook the on-site treatment of PCB contaminated transformers in the Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia in cooperation with Sea Marconi Technologies. The project was awarded by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and involved the set-up and operation of a non-combustion decontamination technology for PCB containing transformers.
Polyeco Group delivered the plant at the facilities of Rade Koncar, who was the recipient of UNIDO’s technical assistance. Polyeco Group staff then commissioned the plant and trained local personnel in the operation of the equipment through demonstration of the decontamination operation and the cleaning of metal parts of the transformers for final recycling. Polyeco Group also managed the waste produced at its facilities.
