Polyeco Gulf Signs Collaboration Agreement With Elixir United For The provision Of Hazardous Waste Management and Marine Pollution Control Services In Oman
On Monday, February 12, 2018, Polyeco Gulf LLC, signed a new contract with Elixir United Investment LLC, part of the well-diversified Omani business house Al Jazeera International Group, for the provision of Hazardous Waste Management and Marine Pollution Control Services In the Sultanate of Oman.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Athanasios Polychronopoulos, Executive Chairman of Polyeco Group, Dr. Lefteris Chalarakis, Country Manager of Polyeco Gulf LLC and Shaikh Mohammed Nasser al Hashar, Vice-Chairman, Al Jazeera International Group, at its Al Khuwair office.
Polyeco Gulf LLC, established in 2015 in Muscat, is the Omani Affiliate of Polyeco Group, an international group of companies with a long track record of experience in the execution of hazardous waste management, oil and chemical spill response projects. Since 1977 Polyeco Group has responded to more than 2000 incidents, provided services to more than 1,000 industrial sites and facilities such us all types of onshore and offshore facilities, including oil terminals, production platforms, refineries, shipyards, oil recovery plants, power stations, chemical industries, ports, harbors and marinas and 800 corporations and UN agencies around the world and particularly in remote locations in Africa, Asia, Middle East, Latin America and Europe.
Polyeco Gulf LLC, is already a provider of hazardous waste management services to clients such as Orpic, Oman Gas Company, Ministry of Health, Sultan Qaboos University, and the Colleges of Applied Sciences (CAS). Last month, the company was awarded a contract to provide hazardous waste management services to Oman LNG for a three-year period, building on a contract awarded in 2015.
Through its new partnership with Elixir United Investment LLC, the company is also eager to invest in hazardous waste management facilities entailing the use of the latest technology to help establish a local industry which specializes in hazardous waste processing and recycling with the ultimate goal of adding value to the local economy.
This initiative will not only contribute to the goal of keeping Oman’s environment safe, but it will also help create job opportunities for young Omanis.
On the occasion of this agreement, Mr. Athanasios Polychronopoulos, Executive Chairman of Polyeco Group, said: “The agreement opens up new opportunities and deepens relations between the two companies in the delivery of services provided by Polyeco Gulf LLC encompassing hazardous waste management and related services to the domestic market. We want to bring the best and newest technology in the world to Oman to keep the environment clean, especially in industrial areas and ports”.
Mr. Polychronopoulos mentioned that the company is also in discussion with be’ah, the solid waste management company of the Sultanate of Oman, regarding the company’s plans for the development of national hazardous waste management facilities in the country. Polyeco Gulf is also conducting a feasibility study for investments of its own in the Sultanate.
