Production of Raw Materials

Polyeco Group produces alternative raw materials for the cement industry (RAWCEM). Waste rich mainly in oxides that are used by cement industry, i.e. CaO, SiO2, Al2O3 and Fe2O3, is treated in Polyeco Group’s facilities and RAWCEM is produced, designed for the substitution of natural raw materials. Polyeco Group’s alternative raw materials are Solidified waste (EWC 19 03 06 * and 19 03 07 EWC) and Stabilized waste (19 03 05 EWC).

Raw materials consist mainly of the following types of inorganic waste:

  • Sandblasting waste material
  • Soil polluted with heavy metals or petroleum residues
  • Particles and dust rich in aluminum from thermal metallurgy
  • Solid wastes from flue gas treatment
  • Bottom ash and slag
  • Coal fly ash
  • Sludges from physicochemical treatment
  • Spent inorganic catalysts

Hazardous and non-hazardous waste is stabilized/ solidified by adding industrial minerals and other raw materials such as lime, clays, fly ash etc. in order to minimize hazard behavior and to adjust the physical properties of the final product (particle size, moisture, rheology, etc.). Additionally, if required, the content of main oxides is adjusted, so that the end product does not present any particular variation in texture and composition regarding natural raw materials used in cement production.
